Yadkny’s Review

Enter into the world of the Coteri and Valta shifter races where a young hybrid woman holds the key to re-population.

After her mother’s passing, Mina felt completely lost and alone. With the help of her friend, Chloe, Mina starts to pick up the pieces to her shattered life. While in full grief mode, Mina begins to question her existence and letters discovered in her mother’s possession only lead to more questions with no answers. After a little persuasion, Mina travels to Germany to begin the journey of a lifetime and unravel the mystery surrounding her father’s absence in her life. With every step she takes, the world as she knew it crumbles and a new fantastical world emerges.

Mathias is the most revered and respected warrior general to the Coteri Kingdom. His loyalty is without question, which is why he was tasked personally by the king with this latest assignment. Upon seeing Mina, a flood of unbridled instincts and emotions are let lose, but her homecoming is not without major complications. The lines between desire and duty begin to blur and choices are made that could have grave consequences. The devastation could be Mina and Mathias’ undoing when truths of her existence and deeply felt betrayals are revealed.

This story is incredibly vivid and allows the reader to just dive right in to a new world of shifters. The descriptions can occasionally be a bit repetitive, but doesn’t completely detract and can richly enhance the storyline. The dialogue is fresh with a nice mix of heartfelt emotions and the character point-of-views are well balanced.

I became quickly enthralled with these unique characters and their world. Mina is strong, independent, quick witted, and unknowing of her physical charms. Mathias is not only deliciously described, but fiercely alpha with a sensitive side reserved for those he cares for most. Both characters have admirable qualities that will absolutely appeal to readers. The romantic development between Mina and Mathias is sensually written with smoldering love scenes and plenty of sexual tension.

I applaud this duo author team for their combined efforts in creating this fantastic new series that is sure to become a favorite among the paranormal romance community. I am excited to read more about some of these secondary characters as the series continues and look forward to the return of Mina and Mathias with their own little development.

First Line(s): The cold mist of the morning air did nothing to clear away the hurt and confusion that filled Mina’s mind.
My Review: This is an fantastic story with shape shifter action, romance ( and at times hot crazy lust!), suspense, and the battles one faces when trying to learn who you really are and finding a family you thought was never going to be. If your cup of tea is paranormal romance that goes beyond the romance and has great details, look no farther than Infinite Betrayal!
I cannot wait until the next book in this all new series comes out. Dying to learn who will survive, who won’t and of course to read more of the steamy romance scenes. There are so many characters involved in this new series that I hope we are in for many books to come.

Robyn and I have finally received our books in print!  They will be for sale at Lori Foster’s Reader/Writer Event in June!  We hope to see you there!!

I absolutely can not tell you how much I enjoyed this book!  At the very beginning Gayle and Robyn had me sucked in and I didn’t want to let go!  The uniqueness of the shifters in this book is the one of the many things I loved about it.  Not only are the shifter able to take multiple forms but they are nothing like I have read before.  The culture and the uniqueness of the Coteri is jus absolutely fabulous I love the dynamics.

That being said, normally I am not a huge fan of head hoping (more than the two main characters) but I loved it in this story.  Allowing to see in the other people’s point of view added great depth to the story line.  I loved being able to see the kings point of view because I am not going to lie if I didn’t I probably wouldn’t have fallen for him like I did.

I totally did not see the ending coming.  And I am glad at the way it was handled with more reality of the time to sizzle then everyone just happily gets along like nothing happened.

I can not WAIT for the next installment in this series.  Seriously I loved it that much. I really want to see the back story of Chloe and Talon, who I fell in love with like bad I really want him as my own, there is a story there and I really want to know what it is!  I hope this series continues on and on and on.  Great job ladies keep up the good work!

~Must Have~

For a book or story that is truly exceptional. I will absolutely buy everything else this author has to offer. The highest praise – and reserved for only a few.

A NIGHT OWL BOOK REVIEW

Mourning her mother’s death, Mina Roarke is shocked to discover boxes of letters from her “deceased” father. Having more questions than answers, Mina travels to the Black Forest in Germany to confront a man she thought was dead. Fate leads her to Mathias, a man who leads her down a path full of danger, intense sexual heat and the ultimate betrayal. Will Mina learn to trust the man who’s captured her heart?

As a general for the Coteri, a secret shifter race, Mathias is used to following orders. Told to protect Mina at all costs, will he be able to control his animal instincts and not claim his king’s secret daughter, the one person he’s forbidden to have?

Infinite Betrayal is the fascinating first book in the paranormal romantic suspense series, Infinity, by Gayle Donnelly and Robin Mackenzie. It’s full of betrayal, family secrets, intense sensuality and adventure. Both Mina and Mathias are likable characters who drew me into their story; I found their forbidden romance sweet and sexy.

Mina is an interesting character; she’s young, beautiful and has just discovered she’s fairly rich. She’s also short tempered, has trust issues and has been having a hard time kicking her nicotine habit. Discovering her mother lied about her father, Mina is determined to find the truth – even if it means traveling to a foreign country on her own and confronting a man she’s never met. Mina’s emotions are believable and drew me into the story. From the start, her journey is an adventure filled with typical travel issues like lost luggage and spilled beverages. When she reaches her destination she finds herself attracted to the man sent to guard her while she waits for her father. An attraction she tries to fight without success.

Mathias is a fantastic character; he’s strong, capable and incredibly hot. He’s a complete Alpha male used to being in control. He’s completely surprised by his immediate and intense attraction to Mina, the Coteri king’s secret daughter, who he’s been assigned to guard. Unable to disclose her birthright, he finds himself pretending to be less than he is – an incredibly powerful shape shifter in charge of an army at war with an enemy who would do anything to get their hands on her. Mathias has no choice but to withhold the truth.

The scenes between Mina and Mathias are full of lively dialogue and sexual tension. The more time they spend together, the greater their attraction grows. Mina can’t understand why she needs protection and Mathias can’t tell her the truth. He also can’t take her to her father’s castle until the king informs his council about her secret birth and half-human, half-Coteri heritage. Mathias is between a rock and a hard place; unable to deny his attraction he finds himself claiming Mina as his mate. He knows his actions are a violation of the king’s orders and Coteri law.

The secondary characters in this story contribute significantly, from King Roderic, Mina’s father, a man who wants to have a relationship with a daughter he’s had to deny for too long, to Talon and Tremayne, Coteri soldiers under Mathias leadership, who provided a touch of humor to the story. We also meet Valencia and her son Luca, the leaders of the Valta, former members of the Coteri who have become their enemy. The Valta have no desire to live alongside man and nature as has been the Coteri way for centuries, they don’t want to be the guardians of both but would rather become the masters of mankind, who they consider inferior. When they realize Mina’s importance to their cause; kidnapping her is just a part of their plan.

The story concludes on a high note with Mina’s rescue and return to the Coteri. She meets her father for the first time and both he and Mathias reveal the truth. I was pleased with the story overall and with the world which Ms. Donnelly and Ms. Mackenzie have built. While the story begins somewhat slowly and some passages are a little repetitious, the pace picks up speed. The end even gives us clues as to who the main characters will be in the next story in the series, Infinite Surrender, which is currently under progress. I look forward to seeing where Ms. Donnelly and Ms. Mackenzie take us next.
